Glamour photos are photos—usually of women—that emphasize the physical beauty of the subject. In most cases, the clothes are very chic, the hair is elegantly coiffed, and her makeup is carefully done. She is definitely portrayed as a thing of beauty.

Glamour shots often require a certain amount of preparation time to get the clothes and hair and makeup just right, so when you're getting fancied up for some other occasion is a good time to take some photos. It seems a shame to go to all the work of getting all fancied up and then not have some good photos taken. Of course, with the proliferation of inexpensive point-and-shoot cameras, many people take photos on such occasions, but they are often disappointed with the results—glowing red eyes just detract from a photo somehow. . . There is no substitute for the appropriate photographic skills and equipment when you want album-worthy photos—photos you'll be proud of years from now.
